Medieval Kings Chess 2 for Black Berry

Medieval Kings Chess 2 is a chess game for the BlackBerry by Magmic games. We had a chance to review the original version and were very excited when we found Magmic released a sequel with a laundry list of improvements. New features in this version include online multiplayer, a campaign mode, and updated graphics. The controls have also been tweaked to make the game much more simplier to play.

Campaign:
There are two modes to the new Medieval Kings Chess, a campaign mode and an online mode. The campaign mode pits you against the great kings and rulers of history. The stages have progressively harder levels of AI and different themed boards and pieces. In total there are 6 different kings, or levels starting from the easiest King Arthur to the hardest Ganghis Khan. The only issue moving to the next level of ruler is that it takes the CPU more time to pick it’s move. When you finally reach Ganghis Khan, some of his moves take an unbelievable amount of time to process. Now this is most likely due to the limited CPU power of the Blackberry and with the new models being introduced some time this fall or winter, it may change a few things.
Multiplayer:
Before the internet, people would play chess and write letters to each other. Moves would take weeks to make and games months to finish. Chess was maybe the first connected game ever, requiring the user to manually decipher the chess code. This is similiar to how Medieval Kings Chess 2 multiplayer plays, where users will go back and forth over the course of a few hours, a few days, or even a few weeks. However you can have a great multiplayer chess game on the Blackberry that goes back and forth, you just need to find someone online at the same time and is able/willing to play for an hour or two. The vibrate feature helps to notify you when your opponent has made its move and now it’s your turn. For the most part, the way you’re going to play is like chess by mail: one move per game per session. For this reason, Magmic has allow you to have multiple games played at the same time.
